“Shift change at a firehouse is when firefighters sit around a table or other spots and discuss business, politics, family and more, typically over a cup of fresh-brewed coffee.
It’s predominantly the profession’s drink of choice while on duty and very few turn down a cup or the opportunity for a splash of joe. It’s part of the history and legacy of departments around the city.
Two firefighters, one still active and another retired, and their spouses have partnered to bring the worlds of firefighting and custom roasted coffee together with Hook & Ladder Coffee Co. Jon and Pam Reese and Bill and Lauri Weske are roasting their unique flavors of coffee right here in North Texas.”
